While those involved in the making of the film may not see a problem with casting white actors as The Impossible real family, it is true that Hollywood's film industry has the unfortunate tendency to place the projected success of a movie on the popularity of an actor, how they look, and how likely audiences are to see a film with unknown actors in lead roles.
